John and Paul oh my!! 72
I just saw John and Paul together for the first time in like 20 years and I must say it was like walking back in time.
Such bullies were they, but they always had something to laugh about. And the capers that they managed to pull off were incredible.
And truly they had the softest hearts and still do today.
I was fortunate to know those guy in school and out and believe me they were always up to something.
When I was talking to them I saw that they will always treasure there moments with everyone at BS. They both look forward to seeing everyone on the 24th of May.
I think we all are.

I remember one snowy night that I was going to see a freind of mine in Ranburn woods.John and I saw each other from across the street.I guess there was some kind of fued going between us about girls or something.I remember us fighting in the snow for what seemed like an hour. All's I remember neither one of us ever hit each other it was pushing and wresting but I went home cold and tired as hell. Next day at school we kind of looked at each other and had renewed respect for each other.
Hi Bill,
There was always someone fighting over the girls and girls fighting over the guys, that's a part of growing up.
Of course are choices were slim since we were stuck in the same class, it was like rotation.
Sometimes you just have to stand your ground and the next day it's all over with.
And could that girl have been Donna Widelski??? All of the boys had a crush on her.
Good for you Donna.

I’m trying to remember the wrestling match mentioned by Bill. Perhaps it would help if I knew Bill who? The only memories I have of any altercations at BS were all about the same as the one described. No real punching, just a lot of wrestling around until we were so exhausted we couldn’t go on. I had more bark than bite. I do however remember being a bit of a bully. It took a while to figure out what was really important and what was not. Helping those less fortunate than ourselves seems to provide the most long term satisfaction. Providing a little humor in a difficult situation, a shoulder to lean on when life has you down and an open ear when someone needs to tell you their troubles seems to work when all else is failing. Who would have thunk it!!! Compassion and consideration for others. Little miracles every day!
John and Paul had and still have a tremendous love hate relationship that can only be compared to real brothers. John and Paul were my good friends through school and we hung out after school much also.
Paul was the only one who would stand up to John. My only defense was I could run faster than John and I was smart enough to keep a safe distance until he cooled down.
We talked John into walking through Oak Hill Cemetery one night and we scared him so bad he probably would have buried one of us there if he would have got a hold of us.
I saw Johnny in his birthday suit one night, wearing nothing but cowboy boots and a smile running across 45th Ave. at Grant St. in front of cars at the stop light. Stop and let that image sink in.
Big John, in cowboy boots, running down the road, naked. Two other jugheads were with him. I was laughing so hard I could hardly run.
Just a little follow up, John caught me many times and always turned me loose without pulverizing me like I deserved. He was just a harmless teddy bear at heart.
Jerry I am laughing so hard I could pee my pants.
Mainly because the guys were talking about it the next day at my house.
The thought sunk in many times back then and now I can still see the image.
I can't remember but I think there was a "I dare you Johnny"in that.
And Johnny, I'm sorry but that is a funny thought.
Also it is Billy Pratch that has the memory.
Notice how I still call you guys by my favorite kid names. Note that it is in fond memories of you all.
Johnny, Jerry, Pauly, Craigie, Joey,Markie, Lenny and so on.
I just love you guys.

I believe we called Bill (Boo). I do remember the party at your house. I really don't remember our fighting. I remember you were fun to hang out with. Hope you can make it to the reunion. Take care.
I have quite a few memories of naked runs through streets of Gary. Nothing like hanging with my boys, laughing it up and seeing the reaction of those people at the lights. Priceless!
Hey John....Just make sure that you don't lose your luggage at the airport on the way here for the reunion. I don't think the owners of the Halls of Justice will let you in without your pants on! Ü
Do it Johnny, for old times sake. Don't forget the cowboy boots man.
Chris and Perz,
I'll be wearing my cowboy boots and checking my luggage on the flight, so you never know what might happen. I've never been stopped at the door on any of the occasion I attended in the buff! Is that a dare, Perz?
Johnny, I triple dog darn ya !!
Attendee’s should probably come prepared with eye protection. Just in case the vomit is of the projectile type. And some of that vomit dry stuff may also be required. The view may be more than some can handle!
Side note to Mr. Z: As you can see, your lesson on projectiles and vision disabilities hit home. I’m recommending eye protection. Always the student. Always thinking of others. Slim Shady to the rescue! Go Slim Shady, Go!
Yes, "Go Slim Shady, go," INDEED!!!!
Well, Johnny Boy, don't worry if you lose your luggage and the "straights" at the party palace don't see the humor in your appearance in the buff, even if it comes out of necessity. I have a few extra Santa suits and you can always come along as my apprentice.
I parenthesized the word "straights" above because words change in meaning over time. In my day people who puffed weed were called "heads" and those who didn't and who normally had a conservative, uptight perspective were called "straights." I guess today "straights" is juxtaposed with "gays." In my day "gay" meant carefree, breezy, happy. Today you have to watch what you say. Guys who can yank a car apart in an hour used to use the term "tranny" for "transmission." Forget that today! It's like an old Red Foxx album, which cracked me up a few decades ago. He said that even the word "funk" has changed. In his day "funky" was really nasty, like his buddy's grandma's dirty laundry that he would discover in her closet when they played hide-and-seek. Now funky is really cool, like jazzy and hip music (by the way, I chaperone for our middle school dances and for the life of me I can't imagine WHAT these kids are going to play at THEIR reunions--NO slow dances AT ALL, really crap lyrics, etc.--oh, well, I'm sure my WWII era folks thought the same about the psychedelic stuff I was playing in the mid-60's!!!)
GO SLIM SHADY, GO SLIM SHADY!!!!!!
