In MORE Big Trouble with Sr. Virginette

Hi Chris and Rose,
Fortunatly I wasn't involved in that caper. But what I do remember was the silence when we came back from the concert that Sr. Virginette had a group of us sing in. Remember? "Wade in the Water" Geesh I thought I'd never get that song out of my head.
Anyway...The silence was the sign that someone was in big trouble.

Who could it be I wondered?!?
There were only a few that I could think of. Keith Underwood, John Rydlewski and Paul Einikis. No they were at the concert with me.
Hummmm? Rose King of course, if there was mischief usually she was involved, but Chris Colle??? For shame.
The suspence is killing me who was the third girl involved. Come on Fess up.
I blame it all on Mrs.Tomondi.

Recently I have been asking friends from our class to email some of there fondest memories.
The most popular one is the Spook House.
I've been trying to clear the cob webs from the memory bank and seriously can't remember a thing.
Although I have been told that I played spin the bottle and kissed all of the boys, I guess those kisses weren't that memorable to me.Sorry guys.
So enlighten me boys!?!hehehe
I do remember Johnny Rydlewski trying to bite my neck....Johnny it's confession time for you.
I barly remember Mr. Vlasic and the stealing of the test caper.

So it is time to share your knowledge of the past no matter how painful or funny it is. Now when I look back I find that even though we were all snotty little brats I look back and laugh at how simple life was and how special each and everyone of you are to my memories.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the BS Reunion.

Speaking of getting in trouble with Sr. Virginette or "Hawkeye" as she was so fondly called :) My mom used to let me pull up the front of my hair since it was long and I had so much of it into a high ponytail on the top of my head with the rest of my hair down. Sr. Virginette called my mom and told her I couldn't wear my hair like that anymore due to it looking too promiscuous. Did she think I was a stripper in my spare time?? My mom wasn't very happy and told Sr. that she could come over and fix my hair to her satisfaction every morning before school...and I guess that was the end of that...Did I even really know what the word promiscuous meant back then:)

Hey Chris... remember when we were doing the school newspaper and we did the Valentine issue and you drew some cherubs on the front cover and Hawkeye said the cherubs were obscene because you drew their butts too big....:)

As I recall, it wasn't about the SIZE of the cherubs behind....thinking it had more to do with the fact that a "butt" (angel's or otherwise) was even visible on a document representing our school!!! Ughhh...what was I thinking!!!

I remember one day Sr. Virginette came into our classroom and after she got done talking she turned to the picture of this Hawk we had pinned to the blackboard and said take that picture of that Hawk down. We all died laughing cause she did not know it was a picture of herself!! Remember how she would always hawk around trying to look for trouble. We would always roll up our skirts and Hawk eye would always have her head bent looking down at our legs. She was one weird nun! What nun would name herself Virginette? I guess we could of called her Virgie? We were actually abused by those nuns!! They would take those counter brushes and start waving them in the air calling us "YOU DONKEYS!" I guess that meant jack ass in nun talk.

I'll never forget that day....
We were in 7th grade then and Mr. Zagar had know idea we put that picture up. Or he thought there was nothing wrong with putting up a bald eagle, which is our native symbal.
Sr. Virginette was always checking on our class, I think she didn't trust Zagar and his new way of teaching.(Moody Blues)
Anyway Virginette was sticking her head through the window at the door, someone was always on look out for her.
I think there was some mischief going on and she opened the door to yell at us.
When she came in with force we all sat up tall and listened to the abuse.
I remember her saying " If this class doesn't start paying attention to Mr. Zagar, our education will be lost.
Then she said my favorite line.
"Behave or I will cut your head off and trow it in your face."
Then she turned around to leave and noticed the eagle picture and told us to take that picture down.

When she left the room I think I looked up a Zagar with a smirk on his face and burst out laughing.

Cut your head off and trow it in your face. She deserved the name HAWK EYE.
Who says such things!?!

Hey Debbie Walton, that must have been Virginette's year to pick on our hair.

The summer of 1971 ahhhh what a summer for me. I got to work on my dad's fire work stand in Miller. So I got to spend the month of June in Miller everyday checking out the hottest guys on the planet. Tough job but someone had to do it.
So I put on my HOT PANTS a HALTER TOP and drew in the boys. Yum!!
Sorry I forgot my point....

Anyway my blonde hair became white from the sun that summer.
When we got back into school that year I must have been a target for Virginette.
She pulled me by my hair to the side of the hallway and told me it was a sin to bleach my hair and she would be calling my mother. (big mistake)
So she did.....
My mother told her that it wasn't her business how I looked on the outside. That her job was to enrich my mind so I wouldn't turn out to be the harlot that you are implying. Way to go mom.

Virginette always had something to say negative to me. She was always complaining about my skirt being to short. I couldn't help it if I was growing.
So one day she again grabbed me and took me to the office.
She proceeded to yank on my skirt and tore it and the zipper split.
I was so embarrassed...I left the school and walked home.
When I told my mom about what happened, well if any of you remember Bettye D. I'm sure you could imagine what words came out of her mouth.
Anyway, She called Virginette and told her if she ever touched me again that there would be hell to pay and that she was to get me a new skirt by the next day.
I went to the office in the morning. Mrs. Tomondi had the skirt waiting for me(surprise!!)
Well that was the biggest skirt I had ever seen in my life. When I put it on it fell right off and the length was to mid calf.
Mrs. Tomondi started pinning it to stay up and told me that she would take it home and fix it. Thank you Mrs. Tomondi.
Ahhhhhh those fond memories, they put a smile on my face.
