Welcome...This blog site was created to provide a forum for Blessed Sacrament Alumni to reconnect and share memories. It's our hope that reliving the laughter and recalling the antics can bring us all back to a time when life was so much less complicated!

The cheerleaders were all great. It must have been really tough to keep going when we were getting blown out. Thanks girls!
No Johnny that wasn't tough at all we loved our team.
What was tough was being on the bottom of a pyramid and letting the girls climb up to the top and holding them steady. Right Chris??
We were always on the bottom.
No wonder I have back problems today.
Beth
Yes Beth sorry about being the one on top of the pyramids. You bottom girls took a lot and did a great job holding us all up!! I came across a picture of our famous pyramid we were so proud of and a couple of other cheerleading pictures that are so hilarious!! I remember how we had to find someone to sew our cheerleading skirts and we were so proud how they turned out!! We had a great squad and we had fun cheering our little hearts out for our team!! Go Broncos!!
Oh yah Beth thanks for taking all the other stuff too that came along with the other cheerleading episodes. You are one true friend!
Why were we always laughing???? What was so funny??? When it came time to be serious and do our cheers we all came through at the end and did a great job!! Remember Bronco Beat? Bronco Beat mellow mellow Bronco Beat Let's Go!! That was one of our best cheers!!!
The cheerleaders were the most exciting part of our basketball games, them and wondering if the team would reach double digits before the 4th quarter.
Does anyone remember either Toni or Rose doing a cheer during a free throw and knocking over a ref ?

Hi Jerry, it is funny you mentioned that about the ref. Toni and I were just talking about that. I remember that the ref fell on top of one of us while doing a cheer while one of our guys was shooting a free throw. While falling on his butt he was holding the top of his head. We think he was wearing a toupee and it was falling off!! We were so afraid of getting a technical foul but the ref let us slide. The cheerleaders could never of lived that one down if we got a personal foul against our team!! The sidelines were so skimpy it was a miracle anyone could move in there. The funny memories we all remember!
I'm laughing so hard right now remembering that moment with the ref. hahahaha!
One thing I can say about our class is that we laughed a lot.
I remember dropping you once Rose while practicing for that competition we were in. We thought you broke your arm. But before that happen we were laughing so hard about something stupid and I got shaky and lost my balance, and down you went. Sorry about that...
If I remember right you and Toni had the best fitting cheer leading uniforms, mine was about a size to big so I had to pin it and roll it up to be short enough.
Kathy Bryan told me I yelled at her once because she was to sick to come to a game. Sorry Kathy, what a jerk I was.
I vaguely remember those cheers I know we did that clappy one for the tournament, Was it H_E_L_L_O ????
Hey where is Toni Dauro she must remember some of this.
And Rose send those pictures to Chris and she will post them here.
Beth
Hi Beth, I truly don't remember you ever dropping me so I must of been ok. I do remember that cheerleading contest at Calumet High School. We were so NERVOUS because we were competing with the big cheeleaders now and it was really scarey but fun!! We did not win but got a taste of what competition felt like. Those are the pictures I am talking about that I have of that day. We should of thought to do something with our hair put ribbons or something in it. Maybe we would of won then?? I have talked to Toni several times about getting on the BS Blog. She is going to try sooner or later. She told me some funny stories that I forgot. Let me know how I get those pictures to Chris. Would I be getting them back?? We really tried with our uniforms to look our best. We did not have much money to spend on them by looking at the pictures now we should of had a fundraiser or something maybe we would of gotten them to look better and fit half way decent. Those days were the BEST!!!
Toni Dauro are you out there???
