It's fun to talk to the guy's in Afganistan as we fly over enroute to India....They are so homesick....The Continental Pilots recently sent them a care package! Lot's of us donated, then someone took the loot, went to Sam's club on a shopping spree, and shipped everything to Kabul!....We always enjoy chatting with those dudes as we cross the Himilayans.....
Okay Jim Settle. You didn't show up at the reunion. So I didn't get to get even with you for telling me that I looked like your grandpa's irish setter. Beth tells me that it actually may be a compliment because you liked that dog. Somehow I'm sceptical. Hopefully you are not so mean anymore!!!! Paula Walton

Yes, give him crap for not coming to the Reunion, although he did apologize for not coming. Should I forgive him???? I'll have to think about that.
To all of my friends that might have a family member fighting for our country today, my heart and prayers are with you.
It's not easy to go on with your daily life knowing that a father a brother a aunt or uncle even a wife is taking a daily risk for us.
Jim went 4 times to Afghanistan and the last time was for 14 months on a job. I was always thinking about him and his family.
He's home safe with more attitude then before but he also has more love in his heart for family and friends.

We need to stop lying to our young and to each other. War is hell, brings hell, and ultimately brings hell home. No one is safer by it. Indeed, they are fought by the poor for the schemes of the rich, nothing more. And no one is innocent--some fight, bravely, perhaps for reasons noble yet off the mark of reality--for all who pay taxes share the burden.
That sound you hear in the distance--getting louder every day, with failed banks, auto and other industries tanking, etc.--is the sound of the Empire crumbling. Nothing can stop it. It is a done deal. I anticipate a Global depression that will make 1929 and the 1930's look like an era of prosperity. A war against Iran for Western control of the world's energy supplies, maybe going nuclear. waged by white racists and Zionists from apartheid state of Israel.
If that happens, the last one with power can shut this site down.

I thought we were fighting because someone brought down The World Trade Center after their second try. I thought Israel is defending their right to exist and have a home land.
War is hell, but to say it is not necessary is like saying the police force is not necessary. As long as their are murderers, rapist and thieves, we will need police. As long as there are Adolf Hitlers, Sadam Hussains and Osama Bin Laden we will need to defend our selves. Nazi flags flying over Europe and US does not appeal to me; Muslim rule with the burka look does not either.

Not that I am a political person I recognize the need for the safety of our country. And even though there is more unnecessary death in our own home land... and when we have our own problems with weather related tragedy and we can't get the help we need right away... We can still sleep at night knowing that we won't hear explosion in the night.
The people that join the service do so on there own, they may have reasons such as:
Seeing no future
Needing more structure
These people have still made the choice to protect there home land.
But for the most part it is important to remember that know matter what the reason is they are doing it because it is scary times and they want to see our lands free and beautiful.
I don't think that their is one person out in this vast universe that truly want their family members sent to war but as Jerry said, there are those nut cases out there that feel that they are almighty powerful and they use the name of God as there leader but in truth they have this twisted mind to destroy.
As I have always told my children..
The choices you make today are the ones that will follow you for the rest of your life, so choose wisely. Keep your minds open because a closed mind is a wasted one.
