Blessed Sacrament Reunion

Welcome...This blog site was created to provide a forum for Blessed Sacrament Alumni to reconnect and share memories. It's our hope that reliving the laughter and recalling the antics can bring us all back to a time when life was so much less complicated!

Thinking about all of you.....

Hi, Classmates! I have to admit that at first I was skeptical of a grade school reunion. My life probably isn't any crazier than any of yours--I kept the whole idea in the back of my mind but doubted that I would act on it (attending the reunion). Now I'm feeling alot different about the idea. Almost every time I see a new name on the blog it evokes a memory. Eva Claypool--you were Laura Medved's cousin and I was at a slumber party at your house once. Garry Aloia--one year older, played basketball. I have run into you a handful of times since grade school and you always remembered me. Beth, oh, Beth. I don't have enough time to tell you all the memories I have of you. You were my neighbor in high school (I mostly remember you from high school) and we had some crazy times. Brian Czekala and Harry Rodriguez--I hear yous guys are helping out with the reunion. I've seen these two alot through the years--we were all close with Blanche and Mark. Peggy Ernst, you were my partner once in a procession at BS. I spent some time at your house back then. I have no idea whatever happened to Regina. Annette? Fritzi? Ellen? I rememer your whole family. I can rememer rehearsing for plays in your basement. But the person evoking the most memories so far is Debbie Williams. My grandparents babysat us summers and they lived next door to Debbie. I rememer so many things about Debbie and her family I can't believe it. I can't wait to see her again! Chris Colle, I rememer what you looked like back then, I think I could pick you out of a crowd. Looking forward to seeing you all again. Also looking forward to spending some time with my sister and brother at an event like this. Oh, I almost forgot--Mr. Zagar, Ted if you will, you gave us an assignment once where we had to write a letter about being a passenger on the Mayflower's passage. Probably one of the only A's I ever got!!! Take care! Cheryl Markovich

Cheryl,

I'm surprised that you didn't get a whole slew of "A" grades through the years.

I hope that all of you realize that grades are basically without merit (is that an enigma wrapped in a puzzle?). It is HOW YOU LIVE LIFE'S GAME that counts!

The "A" was nice to give on my part and nice to receive on yours. But it doesn't approach in size the nice descriptions that you left here of your memories with old friends.

I am glad that the reunion bug has bitten you!

Well Cheryl we certainly did have some great times together.
Birthday parties, T P many many houses in the neighborhood, pool parties at Bobby Samanskis and Danny Davis house. Oh my we were so bad....

I'm so glad that you are coming to the reunion, it will be great to revisit the memories with you.

And I do remember your class of girls defacing the front of BS. Pretty funny how the boys got the blame for it. But they deserved it most of the time.

And to all that have been reading and participating with this wonderful way of catching up, keep the stories coming.
It's been fun to hear and also imagine the person that is writing the story.

Keep in touch.
Beth

If my memory serves me correctly suits were optional at a few of the after hours Davis parties. Just the thought bring a big smile to my face. Those really were good old days! You Ranburn Rascals!

Hi Cheryl, I remember after giving birth at Munster Community Hospital I ran into you after looking at my baby at the nursery. You told me that you work in the hospital and you take care of the babies in the nursery. I said that I just had a baby and that it was so neat that you were taking care of my daughter after she was born.

Cheri,

I am so glad you, Jaye and Jeff are coming to the reunion. You and Jaye were a big part of my childhood. I can't wait to see you guys so we can catch up on everything and recall all of those great Johnson Street memories. Remember playing barbies on your grandma's back porch....kick the can at night and we all use to run wild in the neighborhood..kickball on the paved end of Johnson St. If I wanted to catch up on all the latest styles and what the older girls were doing I would hang out with Cheryl but if I wanted to get crazy I would hang out with Jaye!! They were the greatest sisters to have as friends. Thank you both for a wonderful past!

Hi Cheryl,
I was so touched that you remembered all those names in my family. We remember you, too. I wonder what play it was that we were practicing in my basement… was it “Oliver”? My mom was a high school English and Drama teacher and she helped out with some of the BS school productions. I think Ellen and Jeff White’s mom helped too, with the choreography, she was a dance instructor.
You mentioned my dear brother, Fritz (BS class of 1974). I’m sorry to have to report that he passed away in 1985. He was only 25 years old.

Cheri,
Who would of ever thunk it!!!???
That you'd finally realize after all these years what a cool sister I actually am, instead of the younger, annoying sister that you were made to drag around!!! Hey, we can attend this reunion together as BEST FRIENDS!!! HA!HA! Just wait til everyone sees the crazy Cheryl that you've come to be!YEAH! Was it all those Nancy Drew mysteries that you faithfully read back then, that wanted to keep us all guessing if the conservative, always do the right thing, never break any rules Cheryl actually hid her dark, mysterious side that I have come to know and love? I'm sorry, but I could'nt help myself! I love you sis! Jaye
