Blessed Sacrament Reunion

Welcome...This blog site was created to provide a forum for Blessed Sacrament Alumni to reconnect and share memories. It's our hope that reliving the laughter and recalling the antics can bring us all back to a time when life was so much less complicated!

Remember the Science Fairs?

Debbie, you and Fran look so bored! Is that Dr. Paula with an Ouija board?

Ooooooh, Debbie Walton and Frannie Lorenze.
I'm really going to miss Frannie at the reunion, she was so sweet and funny.
But I think my best time with her was at Lake Junior High when we would play Rumie or War in the cafeteria. Laughing and screaming over the cards.
They band us from playing for awhile because we were so loud. They didn't know what hit them when a bunch of Catholic girls came in.
Right Rose???

God Bless Frannie, she will be missed by all of our class mates.

I do remember the science fair and that Deb and Fran won first place-congratulations. I think I remember one of the years your presentation was on drugs and you had samples in little plastic bags. One entry I recall was of real body organs. Our science training was great. The jar of horse eyeballs is a vivid memory. I remember the dissection day and lancing through the thick layer which resulted in an outpouring of clear, gelatinous material. The lens was really fascinating.
I remember my individual projects" Are vitamins effective?" I grew eggplants and fed them with different vitamin solutions. Conclusion..the vitamins did not help much..no prize that year.

"controlled atmosphere apple storage" apples are like we are they take in oxygen and age. Keep them cool and control the atmosphere and they last longer. This year I won a prize below Fran and Debs but did get to go on to the regional science fair and was elated to earn a bronze award.

How could I forget those science fairs!! I hated them!! I think the year that Debbie and Fran won was the year Toni and I did ours on the Solar System. Before the judges came to us I told Toni you better spit out your gum before the judges come. I thought she got rid of the gum and when the judges came up I started to talk about our project. Then Toni started talking and her gum went flying out of her mouth and landed somewhere I rather not say. We both looked at each other and all we could do was try and keep ourselves from busting out laughing. The judges did not even ask us to much about our project. What a waste of time!!! I think they were to involved in the gum issue and ventured to the next booth. I think if Toni's gum would of not flown out of her mouth we might have stolen the trophy from Debbie and Fran.
